Lych Gate

The lych gate, located at 730 Lalonde Street on the ground’s of the historical stone St. Mary’s Anglican Church, is a replica of one constructed in Heston, England in 1450. A lych gate is a roofed gate designed to shelter a coffin before a funeral. This rare structure was constructed by two former Heston parishioners as a reminder of home and the structure was recognized when its English predecessor was restored in 2001.
