Whitewood Housing Authority
The Whitewood Housing Authority manages 57 units in the town of Whitewood. They include 6 affordable units, 21 family units and 30 senior units. The housing authority is run by a local board of directors that meets regularly and manages the authority’s affairs.
A damage deposit of $326.00 is required for social housing for seniors and families. No pets or smoking allowed in any of the units.
Family social housing is for one or two parents with dependent children. Eligible families will be placed in housing if the gross yearly income per family, 1 dependent is $36,500; 2-3 dependents, the income limit is $44,000, and 4+ dependents, the income limit is $55,500. Rent is 30% of gross monthly income and assets of $50,000 or less. The housing consists of two duplexes with four appliances. 11 houses with three or four bedrooms, and two appliances. Verification of income and references are required. Tenants are responsible for utilities.
Senior Housing consists of 19 single units, seven duplexes and three 2-bedroom units. Rent is 30% of gross monthly income and assets of $300,000. Rent includes your heat, water & sewer and garbage pickup. The Tenant Association and the Saskatchewan Assisted Living program is available to anyone who wishes to participate.
Affordable Housing is offered to low to moderate-income individuals. Income cannot exceed $52,000 per household or $44,500 per year per individual. Verification of income to confirm eligibility is required, along with references. The units are three-bedroom duplexes with four appliances. Damage deposit is one month's rent. No pets or smoking allowed.
